Completed Holiday Shopping
Sam Ulen had completed his holiday shopping and was on his way home, eager to see his daughter’s reaction to the Christmas tree he had chosen. 
However, before heading home, he needed to make a brief detour to the grocery store for some final items.
Bustling Parking Lot
Upon entering the bustling parking lot, he realized his purchased small Christmas tree remained secured atop his vehicle.
Despite this, he proceeded into the store, giving little consideration to the oversight. Engrossed in his shopping, he remained oblivious to an observer outside who perceived the tree as an unexpected chance.
A Joyous Occasion
Christmas was meant to be a joyous occasion, a time for unity and celebration of the season’s biggest holiday. However, someone had sinister intentions to spoil Sam’s Christmas.
As a veteran, Sam was occupied with preparations for his family’s Christmas dinner. He meticulously gathered all the essentials, including a perfectly sized turkey that almost filled his cart to the brim.
Anticipating A Fantastic Christmas
Grinning widely, he anticipated a fantastic Christmas ahead. Little did he know, what awaited him next would ignite fury within him.
Completing his purchase, he exited the store. However, upon reaching the parking lot, a sight unfolded that nearly caused him to lose grip of his groceries. There, he witnessed someone snatching the tree from his car.
Their Significant Error
He recognized their significant error, yet they remained oblivious to the caliber of person they were up against. While he could have involved law enforcement, he opted to manage the situation solo, confident in his abilities. Despite being retired, few were aware of his true capabilities.
Closing the distance, he squared up with the thief, bracing himself for a confrontation. The criminal, spotting him from a distance, readied themselves for the impending clash.
A Tense Scenario
Sam encountered a tense scenario when a burglar tried to break into his car to pilfer his possessions. Nonetheless, Sam possessed a clever strategy.
He confronted the thief, maintaining a composed yet firm demeanor, and inquired, “Are you fully aware of whom you’re attempting to cross paths with?” Deep down, Sam was already aware of the response.
Prepared For A Confrontation
The thief, prepared for a confrontation, was surprised by Sam’s sudden assurance. Sam gestured towards the bumper sticker on his car.
Following Sam’s gesture, the thief noticed the sticker displaying “Protected by Smith & Wesson.” Instantly, he understood his error and became paralyzed with apprehension. He realized he had targeted the wrong vehicle.
Nestled In New Jersey
Sam Ulen enjoyed a contented life alongside his family in a snug residence nestled in New Jersey. His heart brimmed with gratitude for the treasures life had bestowed upon him: a devoted spouse named Diandra and a delightful nine-year-old daughter named Tilly.
With the arrival of the winter season, the crisp air whispered of the imminent joy of Christmas, filling Sam with anticipation.
Captivated By The Snowflakes
The snow began to descend gently, enchanting Tilly, who found herself captivated by the delicate flakes blanketing the earth. Feeling the weight of responsibility to make this Christmas memorable for his family, Sam resolved to procure the quintessential symbol of the season – a Christmas tree.
As Sam departed to acquire the tree, Tilly bubbled with anticipation, envisioning the joy of decorating it alongside her parents and arranging the array of gifts beneath its branches.
A Nearby Tree Farm
Sam made his way to the nearby tree farm, where he carefully selected a majestic tree, adorned with vibrant green foliage.
On his journey back home, with the tree securely fastened to the roof of his car, Sam encountered increasingly icy and treacherous roads. In a sudden turn of events, he lost control of the vehicle, sending it skidding off the road and into a ditch.
Stuck In A Ditch
Sam was okay, but his car was stuck, and he knew he wouldn’t be able to make it back home with the tree. He tried calling for help, but his phone had no signal.
Sam couldn’t help but feel disappointed that he wouldn’t be able to give his family the perfect Christmas he had planned.
Giving Up Hope
Just as he was about to give up hope, a kind stranger stopped to help get his car out of the ditch.
The stranger had a truck and was more than happy to help get Sam and his tree back to his home. Sam was overjoyed and grateful for the stranger’s help.
Heave-Ho
As he stood there, Sam felt helpless and frustrated. His car had skidded off the road and into a ditch. Trying to maneuver it out of the pit proved futile.
Luckily, a stranger came along and offered to help. The man attached a sturdy winch to the car and pulled it out of the ditch with ease, much to Sam’s relief. Grateful, Sam thanked the kind stranger and resumed his journey.
Phone Rang
Just when he thought his troubles were over, Sam’s phone rang. He answered the call, but the voice on the other end was unfamiliar.
Puzzled, he checked the caller ID on his phone to discover that it was his wife calling. His curiosity was piqued. Why would she be calling him at this time?
Diandra
He pulled it out of his pocket to see that it was Diandra calling from home. He couldn’t help but wonder why she would be phoning him right now.
Curious, he answered the phone and listened intently to what she had to say. “Hey honey, please don’t forget to get the food for Christmas,” she reminded him.
